I’m an Indigenous counsellor, born and raised in Yellowknife, with roots in both Inuit and Dene culture. I too have struggled with addiction. I know with my knowledge and support, I can help spread awareness for support and healing.
My work is grounded in the North—its land, its people, and its realities. Since graduating in 2022, I’ve gained knowledge actively supporting healing and guiding NT/”NU residents through the Tree of Peace Friendship Centre for 2 years, and then moved into the GNWT’s Facility Based Addiction Treatment position for over a year.
I’m one of the few Indigenous counsellors who knows how to walk between both worlds: I bring deep cultural understanding alongside professional training in approaches like narrative therapy, DBT, somatic work. I know how to meet people where they are—spiritually, emotionally, physically, and mentally.
What truly sets me apart is my ability to navigate the GNWT system to help my clients access real, timely support. I’ve worked inside the system, I understand how it moves, and I know how to advocate effectively. That means my clients don’t just get emotional support—they get practical, strategic help too. I’m here to make sure no one falls through the cracks.
Whether I’m offering support one-on-one or holding space at community events, my work is rooted in trust, cultural safety, and a deep belief that healing is possible for everyone—especially when we walk the path together.
